The Perfect Chip Timing
The chip is a tiny device attached to your shoelace to record your net time. It doesn’t matter if you start at the back of the pack or get squished at the start. The chip will start your official time when you cross the computer pads at the starting line, and stop when you cross the finish line. Your results will be online. All chips must be surrendered at the finish line or you’ll be charged $30. Volunteers will retrieve them. If you are participating in the race strictly for fun and are not concerned with your official race time, you do not need to wear a chip.
